Saying, "I am a Christian", "I love God", "He is love", or any other sheek, culturally correct lip service does not suffice the Savior.  There has been many false pretences on God and the result is no fear of Him.  No one can please Him without first fearing Him.  Fearing God is taught by experience, first.  Read the LORD's diagnosis of Israel, during Isaiah's time:

"Wherefore the Lord said, Foreasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:"
