My name is Luis Alberto Benites Vilchez. I am 25 years old, and I am from the city of Chiclayo. I am married to Cladyd Rocio Santos Yangua. She is 24 years old and is also from the city of Chiclayo. We have been married for over 3 years and have a 7 month little boy named Benjamin Stephen.
I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at the age of 17. I was invited to church by the lady who is now my wife. I was baptized when I was 18 years old and it was during that time that the Lord called me into the ministry. Before surrendering my life to Jesus Christ, I was studying in the police academy. For me this was a daily battle because I wanted to serve Jesus Christ, but my parents wanted me to be a police officer. Finally, one day the Lord gave me the courage and I went and told my parents that I could no longer study in the police academy because God had called me to preach. When they heard this, they became very aggravated, and began saying that they had failed to raise me properly because I was not doing what they wished, but through all this God had a plan for my life. Shortly after this, I went and enrolled in an Institute in one of the churches in Chiclayo, and I was being trained by pastor Carlos Marquina, Ruben Efio, and some other men for one year.
I studied at the Macedonia Baptist College in Arequipa and graduated in the year 2003, and in February of 2004, I got married. I spent one year as the pastor of a church in Lima and then I worked with my Pastor, Ruben Efio, in Callao.
For the last year we have been working with Bro. Henline and Operation Lima to do our part in helping reach Lima, and the world with the gospel. Bro. Henline has allowed me to be looked at as the pastor and I am striving to do my best in pastoring the people in the church.
This year has been a big year for our family. In December of 2006 we had our first child. We named him Benjamin, and he is a wonderful blessing to us. We have also learned a lot about the ministry this year and the importance of not doing things just because it is tradition.
Please continue to pray with us that we will always stay in God’s will, and be involved in His work. The Lord has provided a building for us to hold services in, and at the same time be able to live in. It has been a blessing watching people grow in the Lord, and I am thankful for the team God has given us so that we may work together for Him. God Bless You!!!
