Saturday was one of those days that about
half way through you wished you could start over again. Everything
we tried to do seemed like it was ending in disaster. My car
stopped working, and that morning the mecanic called and said there
was more things wrong with it than right, and informed me it was
going to cost about $300 to get fixed. So, while I was waiting we
decided to go to the office and get things printed and ready for
Sunday, and while doing that the printer stopped working. Without
giving you the rest of the problems I will get on with the
victory.
I had a 7:00 appointment scheduled with a
lady that has been coming to our Bible studies. When I arrived at
her house you could here yelling and screeming in the background,
and you could tell we arrived at an unpleasent moment. When Mariluz
opened the door, she welcomed us and invited us in and begin to
tell us about all of her problems. I felt like telling her I had
enough problems of my own without dealing with all of hers but the
Lord shut my mouth and I listened to her talk. She is an interior
designer and can turn anything house that is simple and ugly into
something beautiful.
While she was talking to me she was talking about how she tries as
hard as she can to do what is right but it always ends in yelling
and screeming and she doesn't have the patience to deal with her
teenage kids. After listening to her talk for several hours I
opened the Bible and showed her how God could take something that
was broke and lifeless and how he is the great designer and in the
end could make her life the most beautilful thing in the world if
she would repent of her sin and put her faith in God.
It was exciting to be able to kneel down with her at 11:30 on
Saturday and with tears in her eyes ask the Lord to forgive her for
all she had done and accept Christ. The days that have the most
difficulties is without doubt many times the days you have great
victories. But praise the Lord that one more made the decision to
put her trust in Christ. Please pray as she begins to grow in the
Lord that he will help her with all these problems she faces in her
life. She will need to pick up her cross and follow Christ. |
