The Dollar Continues to Fall! |
|
We know that many of you do not understand
what kind of impact it makes on our budget when the dollar exchange
plunges, but I would like to take a few minutes and try to share
with you what that means. When we need money we pull American
dollars out of an ATM machine that is tied to our bank account in
the states.
After we pull American dollars out of our
account, we then have to convert them to soles, which is the
currency of Peru. In the last several weeks the value of the dollar
has fallen almost 15% which bottom line means for every $100 that
we change here in Peru we receive $15 less than we did several
weeks ago. If you take that over a couple of thousand dollars a
month you can see how that can affect your budget very quickly.
>
> Not only do you have the dollar falling, but here in Peru many
prices have risen on certain meats, and common food items. Also, we
have had several churches drop our support during this past year,
and this has caused us live on a very strict budget not only in our
personal budget but also our ministry budget. Right now we are in
need of several things for the ministry but do not have the funds
to purchase them. Please pray with us that we will have the faith
we need to remember that God will provide the needs that we have
here. God has been good to us, but when your crossing a valley, or
going through a hard time it is easy to get off track and try to
take things into your own hands.

> Thank you each and every one that prays for us and the
ministry here. When we see the hand of God moving here in Peru, we
know that it is because of God's people praying and interceding
with us. Please continue to pray that God will have his will done
here in the city of Lima, Peru. |
