I am running a few weeks behind in keeping you updated about what is going on here in Lima, but I will try to catch you up quickly. On July 28th, Lighthouse Baptist Church celebrated it's first anniversay. We had a good time as we remembered what all God had taken us through to get us to this point.

A year ago we began holding a Bible study in the house of a lady, and also in a park. We literally started without having one contact other than the lady who allowed us to use her house. A month or two after starting the Bible study we found a storefront for rent and began holding services. For about 8 months we held services there and spent a great deal of time getting to know the area and the people, and God has been good to us in allowing us to meet and win serveral people to the Lord in the district of Lince.

Just a few short months ago we moved to a new location where we have more room and it is also a place that allows the Pastor to live at the church. The Lord gave us that building paying half of what we were for the other and with more room. In order to be able to hold services there we have had to knock out several of walls and do a little remodeling, but thankfully that is behind us now.

On our anniversary Sunday we baptized the first converts in the church. It was an exciting day as 4 made the decision to follow the Lord in Baptism. I would like to say that I praise the Lord for the foundation he has allowed us to establish this year. God is doing His work in Lince and we are striving to abide in Him. Our desire is that this next year the church as a whole will be able to bear more fruit. God has certainly added some branches, so please pray with us that we will begin to see more families put their faith in God.
