| How to prepare for your mission trip. |
|
Your preparation is the most important aspect to the effectiveness of your trip. When proper preparation is not done we jeopardize the impact our trip can have for the group members, missionaries, and national workers. We will do our best to inform you of important things you need to know, but preparation will begin weeks and months before you arrive here in Peru. The Operation Lima Manual will walk you through everything you'll need to be ready for your departure. You'll have step-by-step directions, and handouts that you may reproduce for the members of your group. We'll include culture-specific information about your trip also. Please encourage your group to learn and prepare skills such as mime, drama, puppetry, and music ministry. Remember that you are coming to learn and serve. When something does not go the way you think it should, keep a good attitude and realize that the missionaries and group leaders are doing their best to make sure you receive the maximum benefit from your trip. Most importantly the members of your group will be entering a spiritual war zone. I cannot express the importance of each and every person coming on this trip to be involved in reading their bibles and spending time praying together for one another. The purpose of this trip is not to entertain your youth. Each member of your team will have a real-life opportunity to be used by our Living God to change the eternal destinies of the people they will meet. And, they'll have an opportunity to entrust their lives to Jesus Christ more completely than ever before. |
