Not much happened today. Here's just a devotional thought for today: Proverbs 21:5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. I recognize that "plenteousness" can be relative to a person's or culture's viewpoint but whatever the difference might be, there is no doubt that it takes planning and work; the emphasis here being planning. This verse does not deal with "how" to be diligent it only reveals the symptoms of a diligent person: how do you think? Do you think of a good report among other people? Of the best way to accomplish a situation? A way to turn a bad circumstance into a useful endeavor? Do you consider the consequences of your actions? Proverbs 21:12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness. The Bible places a lot of emphasis on "thinking" and especially as to do with normal, everyday life. Consider the consequences of not thinking before you do something: "...every one that is hasty only to want." And in other parts of Proverbs 21 God shows people who act without thinking: "The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment." , |
