I would like to take a moment before I go
to bed to thank the Lord for allowing us to find a new location for
the Lighthouse Baptist Church. The Lord led us to a building that
will allow us to do much more than we can in the current facility
and the great part is that we will be able to save $160 a month on
rent.
I want to thank the Lord for what he is doing this
week in Lince. We have been having services since Wednesday evening
and last night there were 70 people that came to be a part of the
services. There were 26 first time visitors and it was obvious that
God was working in the hearts of the people that came.> One of
our young teenagers that got saved over a month ago brought her
whole family and 5 others. God also used the same young girl during
the service to testify about how God had changed her life, and she
challenged everyone in the room to let God do the same in their
lives.
Lighthouse Baptist Church has been going now for just over 5 months. It is amazing how quick the time goes by, but we are grateful to see what God is doing in the district of Lince. Many times you here gunshots by the church, and often times the police are making drug busts doors away from the church, but God’s Word is being preached in a area that is in desperate need to hear about Jesus.
This past month we had 12 people begin a discipleship program where the Bible is studied chronologically. The name of the course is, “The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus.” The reason why this course is so important is because many people have mixed Catholicism with the Bible, and has caused many people in this country to believe they are saved, when in reality they are not putting there faith in Jesus Christ. This course explains from Genesis to the time of Christ the great importance to see our sin, and our need of the blood of Jesus Christ.
During our Christmas Eve service we had 65 people come to the church and 9 people made a profession of faith. Please pray that these people will continue to grow in Christ, and that they will help reach their family and friends with the gospel. We appreciate all of our faithful supporters for their prayers and financial support. God is truly adding fruit to your account and we thank Him for the opportunity to let us minister to the people here in Lima, Peru. There is much work to be done and we look forward to seeing what God does here in this new year.
